Insulation Parts and Stampings for Wind Power
Insulation parts for wind generators in onshore and offshore installations, process-reliable even for the largest generators on the market.
Large dimensions are the norm here
Wind generators have long lamination stacks and correspondingly long slots. What is an exception in standard motor building is the rule here: slot liners and slot wedges in lengths no catalogue part covers. We produce large format stampings up to 1,000 x 2,000 mm, and longer profiles through our own folding tool system.
Because the parts are large, dimensional deviation counts twice. A wedge that drifts half a millimetre over two metres can no longer be seated cleanly in the slot. Process reliability across the full length is the real subject in this industry, not a single tolerance figure on a data sheet.
Requirements from offshore and load cycling
Generators in wind turbines run under strongly varying load and in an environment that works on the material. Offshore adds salt air and high humidity. That calls for insulation with high mechanical strength and stable behaviour over many load cycles, typically NPN laminate, Nomex 410 aramid paper or NKN laminate in classes F and H.
Which combination fits depends on the generator insulation system. We supply the candidate materials as samples so your qualification runs on real parts rather than on data sheets.
Manufacturing at Hauler & Hermann
For large parts the in-house tool shop is the decisive lever. Steel rule dies keep tooling cost low for large area parts at moderate quantities, solid steel tools deliver the precision for repeat series. We make both in house, along with the special tools for folding, forming and bending.
We convert web materials on six slitting lines from 23 to 2,000 micrometres, from 4 mm strip width at a tolerance of plus minus 0.1 mm. Production is certified to DIN EN ISO 9001 and DIN EN ISO 14001.
What buyers and designers should watch for
Plan for framework contracts with call-offs. In generator projects, months often pass between release and series call-off. We hold raw material and capacity so the call-off does not stall on procurement.
Settle packaging as well. Large insulation parts are damaged in transit when stacked loose. We package to your specification and supply kit packs sorted by assembly sequence on request.

How long can slot liners and wedges be?
We produce large format stampings up to 1,000 x 2,000 mm and implement longer profiles through our own folding tool system. The achievable length is confirmed case by case from your geometry and material.
Are your parts suitable for offshore installations?
Yes. For offshore we recommend materials with high mechanical strength and stable behaviour under humidity, typically Nomex 410 aramid paper or NKN laminate in classes F and H.
Do you supply for the largest generators on the market?
Yes. We produce insulation parts process-reliably for the largest generators currently used in wind turbines.
How do framework contracts with call-offs work?
You secure defined call-off lots at optimised prices, we hold raw material and capacity. High storage capacity and a versatile machine park ensure fast delivery even of large quantities.
