Nomex 410 Aramid Paper
Nomex 410 by DuPont is the original aramid paper.
In the production of Nomex 410, aramid fibres are highly compacted. The result is an electrical insulation material with extremely high mechanical strength, great dielectric strength and excellent thermal resistance.
Per DIN EN 60085 Nomex 410 belongs to thermal class H up to 180 C and has been the standard for thermally demanding insulation tasks for decades. Hauler & Hermann supplies Nomex 410 in all available thicknesses from 0.05 to 0.76 mm.
Nomex 410 suits nearly every known insulation application and is used in transformers, electric motors and generators.
Properties and characteristics
The combination of mechanical strength, dielectric strength and temperature resistance makes Nomex 410 so universal. The paper is flexible enough for folding and forming, tear resistant in the winding process and keeps its insulation properties even after thermal ageing. Where higher electrical strength is required at the same thermal class, we combine Nomex with films into laminates such as NPN or NKN.
Delivery formats and processing
We slit Nomex 410 on our own slitting lines to strip widths from 4 mm, with tight tolerances and optimal winding tension for your application. Alternatively we produce stamped and formed parts to drawing, from slot liners to complex custom parts. All thicknesses are held in our well-stocked warehouse.
Selection criteria for purchasing and design
Selection depends on the required thermal class, material thickness, mechanical load in the process and the delivery format, whether roll, sheet or finished part. As a long-standing converter we also advise on switching from other materials to Nomex. Request thicknesses and prices via our contact form.
Frequently asked questions
What thermal class does Nomex 410 have?
Nomex 410 belongs to thermal class H per DIN EN 60085, suitable for continuous temperatures up to 180 C.
In which thicknesses is Nomex 410 available?
In all available thicknesses from 0.05 to 0.76 mm. Hauler & Hermann stocks the common thicknesses in its own warehouse and delivers at short notice.
What is Nomex 410 used for?
For nearly every insulation application in transformers, electric motors and generators, for example as slot liners, phase separators, cut parts or stamped parts in class H insulation systems.
Does Hauler & Hermann supply Nomex converted?
Yes. We slit Nomex 410 on our own slitting lines to strip widths from 4 mm or produce stamped and formed parts to drawing.
