Folding / Forming / Bending
Hauler & Hermann is a specialist in folding, forming and bending sheet insulation to customer requirements. We produce stamped and bent parts, formed and profile parts to drawing or fitted into your specified core. Thanks to our in-house tool and fixture making and a self-developed modular tool system, we can react quickly to the most varied customer requirements.
Any conceivable dimension can be folded, bent and stamped. For example, insulation parts over 15 m in length have already been formed and cut to length. Very important for many customers: strong embossing and at the same time no damage to the insulation material. We have mastered this balancing act very successfully for over 60 years.
Fitted like a second skin
Our expertise lies in folding and forming the insulation so that it sits in the slot like a second skin. On request we 3D print your slot geometry and verify the fit on the physical model before the production tool is made. Typical results of this process are slot liners, field coil insulation, armature insulation and complex custom parts.
Selection criteria for purchasing and design
A drawing or your lamination stack, the required thermal class and the planned quantities are enough to start. If no drawing exists, our engineers create one in our in-house CAD department after fitting. Prototypes are available from a quantity of 1, and implementation including tooling takes only a few weeks. Send enquiries via the contact form.
Frequently asked questions
How long can folded and formed insulation parts be?
Insulation parts over 15 metres in length have already been formed and cut to length. Any conceivable dimension can be folded, bent and stamped.
How is strong embossing achieved without damaging the material?
The embossing and folding tools are made in our own tool shop with a proprietary modular tool system. Embossing depth and tool geometry are matched exactly to the material, without damaging the insulation, for over 60 years.
Can parts be fitted to our lamination stack?
Yes. We fit slot linings as well as rotor and stator insulation individually to your lamination stack and can 3D print your slot geometry beforehand to verify the fit on a model.
What is the advantage of the modular tool system?
The proprietary folding tool system makes us independent of tool suppliers. New geometries and changes are implemented within a few weeks, even on running projects.
