Cut Parts and Cover Strips

Cut parts, often used as cover strips in the slot, are among our standard tasks.

Large-format sheetsCover stripsWith adhesive tape

Cut parts are rectangular or contoured pieces of sheet insulation cut directly from roll or sheet without forming. In motor manufacturing they often serve as cover strips in the slot, and wherever a flat insulation layer is needed.

Customers who cut in-house with laser cutters or plotters receive large-format sheet material from our well-stocked warehouse.

On request we supply cut parts combined with adhesive tape, fully or partially applied, saving a step in your assembly.

Materials and delivery formats

We cut all common electrical insulation materials: pressboard, polyester film, Nomex aramid paper, Kapton polyimide film and laminates such as DMD, NPN and NKN. Available as individual cut parts to size, slit strips and large-format sheets. On our slitting lines we convert materials from 23 µm to 1,000 µm from a strip width of 4 mm, see our cutting solution page.

Selection criteria for purchasing and design

For a quote we only need material or thermal class, dimensions with tolerances and quantity. For recurring demand a frame order with call-offs from our warehouse shortens delivery times considerably. If the cut part later becomes a formed part such as a slot liner, we support the transition to a stamped or formed part from one source. Send enquiries via the contact form.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a cut part and a stamped part?

A cut part is cut directly from roll or sheet without tooling and is usually rectangular. A stamped part gets its contour from a stamping tool. For simple geometries and small quantities the cut part is more economical because there are no tooling costs.

Which materials are available as cut parts?

All common electrical insulation materials: pressboard, polyester films, aramid papers, polyimide films and laminates such as DMD, NPN or NKN, stocked in all common thicknesses in our own warehouse.

Do you supply sheet material for in-house cutting?

Yes. Customers with their own laser cutter or plotter receive large-format sheets cut to the machine format of their equipment.

Are cut parts with adhesive tape available?

Yes. We supply cut parts fully or partially covered with adhesive strips, so applying the tape in your assembly is no longer necessary.

Do you have a specific requirement?

Talk to us. We will find the right insulation solution.
